Summer Reading 2010

Make a Splash @ Your Library!

Library Lifeguards ready to share summer fun at the "beach"!

The theme for the 2010 summer reading program is "Make a Splash @ Your Library!"  Patrons will be surprised when visiting the library this summer and finding that the Blackfoot Public Library has a BEACH!  The bright colors of summer fun in and near the water are there to be enjoyed.

Youngsters may earn and win prizes, participate in theme-based craft activities and enjoy special presentations throughout the program. There is no age limit or fee for participation, but registration is required. Registration was held June 14th through June 19th.

By reading 5 or more books during the summer, it has been proven, children will find their return to school in the fall easier. The Blackfoot Public Library is committed to supporting parents and children in meeting this goal and helping them discover the enjoyment found in their local library.

Summer Reading is brought to you in part by Read to Me, a service of the Idaho Commission for Libraries.

Read to Me is an early literacy initiative which provides information, training, technical assistance, and resources for Idaho libraries and their community partners. Find out more at http://libraries.idaho.gov/readtome.
