Residents of the City of
Blackfoot and the Blackfoot Rural Library District may apply for and receive
a library card at no charge.
Residents of Snake River, Shelley, Firth,
Aberdeen, Bannock County, and library districts participating in LiLI
Express who have a library card with their home library may also apply for
and receive a library card at no charge. For those living outside the
service areas, a library card is available at a non-resident rate of $15.00
per card or $30.00 per household per year.
To register for a library
card, an adult must fill out an application card and present photo
identification. For applicants under the age 18, a parent or legal guardian
must sign the application card along with the applicant. The parent or
legal guardian must present photo identification. To expedite this
process, you may apply for a library card online.
Please bring your library
card when visiting the library. Checking out material is quicker and easier
when your card is presented at the circulation desk. If you do not have
your library card with you, photo identification will be required to check
out material.
Library cards are the
responsibility of individual patrons. Library policy states that the card
bearer must be present to use the card. Library cards cannot be loaned to
friends or family members. All items checked out on your card are your
responsibility.
If a library card is lost,
please contact the library immediately to prevent items from being checked
out on the lost card. Lost library cards can be replaced for a charge of
$2.00.
