Get a Library Card

How to Apply for a Library Card at the

Blackfoot Public Library

All residents of the City of Blackfoot and the Blackfoot Rural Library District (see link below) may apply for and receive a library card at no charge.  Residents of Snake River, Shelley, Firth, Aberdeen, Bannock County, and any library districts participating in LILI Express who have a library card with their "home library" may also apply for and receive a library card at no charge.  For those living outside our legal service area, a library card is available at a non-resident rate of $15.00 per individual card, or $30.00 per household per year.

To register for a library card, an adult must fill out an application card and present photo ID and proof of address.  For applicants under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the application card along with the applicant.  The parent or legal guardian must also present photo ID and proof of address.

Library cards are the responsibility of individual patrons.  Library Policy states that the card owner must be present to use the card.  Library cards cannot be loaned to friends or family members.  All items checked out on a card are the responsibility of the owner.

If a library card is lost or stolen, please contact the library immediately to prevent abuse.  Lost or stolen library cards can be replaced for $2.00.

If you have questions regarding the Blackfoot Rural Library District or its boundaries, please call the Library at 785-8628.
